Symbols Format for PixConnect?

As we all know there are four Types of symbols available in Indian Exchange.

      1. INDEX
      2. FnO ( Futures and Options Segment ) also known as Equity Derivatives Segment.
      3. EQ ( Cash Segment )
      4. Currency ( CDS)

Currently, we are providing the INDEX, Cash/ Equity, and Futures - Options Segment.

INDEX symbol format:- 

There are two different format in Indices, so all Accelpix users needs to follow the format below.

Pix Connect

A:- Amibroker, NinjaTrader 7, Metastock, Multicharts, Advanced Get and, Excel Format:-

Futures and Options symbol format:- 

There is No Continuous Futures in exchange feed, its just created (By the Data Vendor) for the convenience of technical traders.

In Pix Connect you will get the three types of symbols 

      1. Continuous Futures 
      2. Contract Futures 
      3. Options - Weekly and Monthly 

Let's understand all three formats.

1. Continuous Futures:-

We are using _I (Under Score Eye) for continuous contract futures. 

E.g:-  Three Months of Contract as below.

First Month Contract=  _I     
NIFTY = NIFTY_I          BANKNIFTY = BANKNIFTY_I         TCS = TCS_I      RELIANCE = RELIANCE_I    SBIN = SBIN_I

Second Month Contract=  _II       
NIFTY = NIFTY_II         BANKNIFTY = BANKNIFTY_II        TCS = TCS_II     RELIANCE = RELIANCE_II    SBIN = SBIN_II

Third Month Contract = _III     
NIFTY = NIFTY_I          BANKNIFTY = BANKNIFTY_III         TCS = TCS_III    RELIANCE = RELIANCE_III    SBIN = SBIN_III

Let's see some examples to understand the difference between these all formats.

1. Contract Futures:- 
E.g:- NIFTY26SEP24

Here you will find three attributes ( Symbol Name- DD-MMM-YY) (NIFTY-26-SEP-24).

Attributes are:- 

1. Symbol Name- Ticker or Script Name as per NSE   (NIFTY)

2. MMM (Month)- First three word of SEPTEMBER (SEP)

3. YY (Year)-  Last two digits of 2024  (24)

Other E.g:- 

      1. BANKNIFTY25SEP24             2. TCS26SEP24             3. SBIN26SEP24      4. SENSEX27SEP24

3. Options (Weekly and Monthly)


There are two types of Options .  1. Monthly Options and 2. Weekly Options

Weekly Options are only available in NIFTY and BANKNIFTY script.

Here you will find six attributes which would be ( Symbol Name- Strike Price-DD-MMM-YY-PE ) (NIFTY - 25500 - 26 - SEP - 24 - CE ) to create the Weekly options symbol.


Attributes are:- 

1. Symbol Name- Ticker or Script Name as per NSE  (NIFTY)

2. Strike - Strike Price for that symbol (25500)

3. Date- Expiry Date ( Every Thursday is the weekly Expiry date, except last week of the month) (26)

4. MMM (Month)- First three word of JANUARY(SEP)

5. YY (Year)-  Last two digits of 2024  (24)

6. CE-  Represent the type of Options ( It would be Call Options or Put Options) (CE)
